About CLB Levels
Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) are the national standards for describing and measuring English language proficiency in Canada. For French, the equivalent is NCLC (Niveaux de compétence linguistique canadiens).
CLB Scale
CLB levels range from 1 (basic) to 12 (advanced). Most immigration programs require CLB 7+ for skilled workers.
