What Is Express Entry?

Express Entry is Canada's flagship immigration system for managing applications for permanent residency from skilled workers. Launched in January 2015, it is the fastest pathway to becoming a Canadian permanent resident — with processing times typically under 6 months.

Express Entry manages three federal economic immigration programs and is also used by provinces and territories to nominate candidates through their Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs).

How Express Entry Works

Express Entry operates in four key steps:

You must qualify under one of three federal programs:

Submit your Express Entry profile with details about:

• Work experience

Step 3: Receive CRS Score & Enter the Pool
